Details About ISDN
ISDN Service is provided by your local telephone company as a completely separate
telephone service.
ISDN stands for "Integrated Services Digital Network".
ISDN is delivered to you with 2 B Channels and 1 D Channel. This is known as
(BRI) Basic Rate Interface. The switch here in Waxahachie is the type that Each
B Channel will come with its own telephone number. You can use one line for
voice or FAX and the second line can be connected to the Internet.
B-channel
A ("B") channel is a 64 kbps channel which can be
used for voice, FAX, video, data, or multimedia calls. B-channels can be
bonded together for speeds of 128K, 384k, 512k, and higher.
D-channel
The ("D") channel is used for signaling between equipment in the ISDN network and the ISDN equipment at your site.
